Become Certified

We offer Certification for both winter maintenance professionals (private and municipal) and sites.

To achieve Certification, you must apply and demonstrate that you have met the Smart About Salt Council (SASC) standards by successfully completing the award-winning "Essentials of Salt Management" training. This can be done online. In addition to training, new certification requests must be accompanied by an accurate application form and self-assessment.

To maintain certification an annual report is required and random program verifications may be conducted to verify achievement of SASC standards.

Please note we also offer training and individual accreditation for you and your staff.
